Overview

One face, flowers and eight colour variations: Shades of Flowers explores how emotions transform without the face ever changing.

Through eight paintings, the collection combines flowers, chequered patterns, poetry and the human figure in a visual language that balances structure and spontaneity. Inspired by nature and its organic forms, it explores the links between colour, memory and emotion.

The recurring face, inspired by myself and the women in my family line, becomes the central theme of this series. The flowers convey emotions, the chequered patterns introduce rhythm and contrast, whilst fragments of poetry inscribed on each canvas extend their expression.

Each work thus offers a chromatic and emotional variation, whilst retaining the collection’s shared identity.
